Fuel Consumption Reports

Fuel consumption is a vital metric for understanding the efficiency of your vehicle. The Fuel Consumption reports allows you to view the actual fuel consumption of a vehicle and compare it to a fuel consumption target.

To find the Fuel Consumption reports go to the navigation menu > Asset  & Cost Management > Fuel/EVs

There are 2 reports in your Transpoco for fuel consumption:

  1. Fuel Consumption Summary

  2. Fuel Consumption

In order to generate fuel consumption, you need to integrate your fuel card account with Transpoco.

Fuel efficiency is expressed as the average number of litres per 100km (L/100km) or average miles per gallon (MPG) depending on whether kilometres or miles is used as the measure of distance in your country. In this article, we will use kilometres.

What is the source of the data for the Fuel Consumption reports?

We use the litres from the fuel transactions matched to each vehicle registration during the selected time period. We use the distance recorded between each fuel transaction.

How is fuel consumption calculated?

Refill litres X 100 ÷ Kilometres travelled between refills = Fuel Consumption (L/100 km)

1. Fuel Consumption Summary

The Fuel Consumption Summary will be your source of truth for the efficiency of your vehicles. The report also includes the consumed carbon for each vehicle.

Column headings in the Fuel Consumption Report:

Vehicle: Displays the vehicle registration

Refills: The number of refills during the selected time range

Refills Quantity (L): The total number of refill litres

Distance: The distance the vehicle covers between the 1st fill and the 1st refill and the following refills during the selected time range.

Consumption Ratio: The consumption ratio is expressed as L/100KM. The ratio is the total number of refill litres divided by distance multiplied by 100/1.

Consumption Target:  The purpose of this column is to allow you to compare the actual consumption against the expected. You can enter a consumption target for each vehicle in Vehicles section. Consumption targets can be found online, we suggest you try Fuelly.com which gathers consumptions targets for most vehicle models.

Carbon Footprint:  The total number of carbon emitted during the period. Each fuel type generates a different amount of carbon.

  • Petrol - 2.3kg per litre

  • CNG - 2.4kg per litre

  • Diesel - 2.7kg per litre

  • HVO - 0.35kg per litre

  • SFGO - 2.7kg per litre

  • Natural gas - ?kg per litre

You can use the Filter Options to customise the report:

  • Date period - select a customised date period

  • Vehicles group - view the report a group of vehicles. Select a group from the list of vehicles' groups in your account.

  • Vehicle - view the report for 1 vehicle. Select a vehicle registration from the list of vehicles we are tracking.
