National Broadband Ireland is delivering high speed broadband infrastructure across rural Ireland. Operating a 47 vehicle fleet across remote regions, sustainability and operational continuity are critical to meeting national rollout targets and CSRD reporting requirements.
NBI transitioned their fleet to HVO fuel and used Transpoco’s Fuel Module to monitor usage and identify missed HVO opportunities at the pump.
By combining fuel transaction data with emissions reporting tools, they were able to:
• Track HVO adoption across the fleet
• Identify when standard diesel was used instead of HVO
• Measure real CO2 savings per vehicle
• Generate accurate Scope 1 reporting data

• 22 tonnes of CO2 saved
• 0.5 tonnes reduction per vehicle
• Scope 1 emissions target achieved
Most importantly, they implemented a lower carbon fuel strategy without disrupting operations or waiting for infrastructure to catch up.
HVO provided an immediate pathway to emissions reduction, while Transpoco ensured the transition was measurable, reportable and aligned with CSRD requirements.
