Founded in 1968, EPS is a trusted provider of innovative and future proof products, solutions and services to the water sector. A constantly evolving organisation, the company now employs over 530 people across the UK and Ireland.
With over 200 vehicles spread across Ireland and the UK, EPS struggled to manage their fleet in a cost and time efficient way while ensuring compliance with vehicle roadworthiness standards. They needed a reliable and constantly evolving system that would allow them not only to track their vehicles, but also provide extensive fuel data, enhanced driver safety reports and improved fleet maintenance management.
“Prior to using Transpoco, we were with another company for a number of years. We moved because of a combination of issues with the trackers and the support just wasn’t there. The trackers weren’t very reliable. We were constantly chasing up trackers that weren’t working”
— Jennifer Jones, IT Support Specialist at EPS.

After searching online for a fleet management provider to replace their existing supplier, EPS discovered Transpoco. By combining location and fuel transaction data with driving style, maintenance and management insights, the Transpoco platform provides a comprehensive view of fleet performance.
The system not only provides visibility into which vehicles are performing efficiently and which are not, but it also allows this data to be accessed through clear and user friendly reports that support faster and more informed decision making.
EPS began using Transpoco’s fleet management software in 2015. Their solution includes GPS tracking technology, fuel management software and fleet compliance tools to help oversee their entire vehicle operation.
“Transpoco seemed the best fit. It was the competitive pricing and the platform they were using that initially attracted us. The reporting and the display of the system itself looked the most user friendly.”
With powerful insights into vehicle location, fuel consumption, driver behaviour and vehicle maintenance, EPS has been able to make quicker and more effective decisions about their fleet operations.
Using GPS tracking technology, EPS can create and customise reports tailored to their operational needs. These include tracking specific locations, routes, journeys and activity areas. The team can also see where their vehicles are in real time and optimise route planning to improve efficiency.
“Due to various issues, people stopped using the previous company. Because the Transpoco software is reliable, people are much more likely to use it. I know I can tell a manager how to log in and run a report. Previously I had to do it myself because something would go wrong, but now that’s not the case. There is much more faith in the system.”

The fuel management system allows EPS to see exactly where fuel is being used across their fleet. This visibility helps them optimise routes, avoid unnecessary detours and reduce overall mileage.
Through the integration with fuel cards, the platform also enables real time verification of fuel purchases, helping eliminate potential fuel card misuse or fuel theft. As a result, EPS has been able to reduce fuel costs and allocate resources more effectively.
The system has also simplified RSA compliance. Before working with Transpoco, drivers were filling in paper check sheets once a week. When issues were identified, it was often difficult to track them through to resolution due to the company’s operations being spread across multiple locations in Ireland and the UK.
Now drivers can log issues directly through the walkaround inspection app, allowing supervisors to review, track and resolve problems more efficiently.
However, one of the biggest differences for EPS has been the level of support received throughout their partnership with Transpoco.
“Compared to the previous company it is night and day. Knowing that if I have any issue or a question from a manager or a director, I can get an answer that same day has made a real difference. The previous company we used had grown too big and had lost that personal touch.”
Jennifer Jones also encourages businesses facing similar fleet management challenges to consider making the switch:
“There is a system out there that works and will give you what you need. If you want the support and the follow up, that’s why you need to move over to Transpoco.”
